Presenting New Contracting Framework and Procurement Rules

The Minority Chamber of Commerce will host a lunch seminary and Procurement Workshop on Wednesday October 22, 2008 in Miami Dade, to describe the Federal and County new business framework and ways to win contracts resulting from a multibillion dollar contract program in Miami Dade County and U.S Army Corp of Engineering. Open to the public from 12:00 noon to 1:45 PM.

Senior Executives officials will describe new procurements framework and strategies for contract   public development projects in a variety of sectors. Case studies of U.S Army Corp of Engineering and Miami Dade County government’s projects and resulting procurement opportunities will be presented. Luncheon speakers on October 22, 2008 are Ms. Beth Myers, Director-Coordinator Small Business Relations from U.S Army Corp of Engineering and Procurement Director Miami Dade County, Ms. Miriam Singer. The venue for this exciting event is Sushi Café Restaurant located at 7919 NW 2 Street in Miami Dade with phone (305) 261-4266.

The workshop will cover the following topics:   procedures for procurement of consulting services, goods and works; news regarding recent procurement policy changes at the local Miami Dade Government and U.S Army Corp of Engineering; the project cycle, which describes how projects are initiated and developed; sources of information on the web; how to prepare winning proposals; the role of the Minority Chamber of Commerce country offices and executing agencies in procurement operations.
